Bottle caps, or bottle closures, are used to seal the openings of bottles of many types. For plastic bottles a plastic cap is used and can be decorated with the logo of the brand of the beverage/liquid. Bottle closures are often made of a different type of plastic than the bottle itself and can also be plastic, with a pour spout, or with a flip-top. Closures applied to plastic bottles are usually screw caps lids. Child-resistant packaging or C-R packaging is special packaging used to reduce the risk of children ingesting dangerous items. This is often accomplished by the use of a special safety cap. It is required by regulation for prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications pesticides, and household chemicals.
